Prime County Journal

Editorial policy

Prime County Journal aims to make county geography and place names clear, interesting and careful. We separate established information from interpretation and correct the record when we get something wrong.

Accuracy and context

We check claims against suitable sources before publication and take care with names, boundaries and geographical descriptions. Where an interpretation is uncertain or sources differ, we say so rather than smoothing away the uncertainty. Our articles are intended for general interest, not as a substitute for official or local information.

Independence

Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers and the subject. A collaboration does not buy a favourable account, and we do not present a partner's view as an independent editorial conclusion.

Corrections

If you spot an error, please use the Contact page and identify the article and detail. We review correction requests and update material when warranted; significant changes should be made clear to readers.

Partner material and illustrations

Sponsored material and partner placements are labelled clearly so readers can distinguish them from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where relevant, this is disclosed with the image or article.

Our point of view

Place makes more sense when you join the dots

A county is not just a boundary on a map. Its names, landscapes and settlements tell connected stories, best noticed one detail at a time.
